On October 26, 2007, UP Manila celebrated its 30th campus anniversary or its 30th year of being an autonomous campus of the University of the Philippines System. The whole-day affair was highlighted by a thanksgiving mass, a program, and a UP Manila Alumni Association homecoming, and served as a pre-UP Centennial celebration.
Speaking before his constituents, UPM Chancellor Ramon Arcadio said that of the many highlights in UPM’s history, being declared an autonomous campus was a recognition of the vital role of UPM as the country’s leading institution of higher learning in the health disciplines. UPM went on to become the premier center of education, research, and community programs in health and its allied professions.
